KAWS CHUM black figure is a popular series reissued to celebrate the 20th anniversary of KAWS. CHUM, whose name means ‘a close friend’, is noticeably inspired by the popular Michelin Man. The well-known public welfare "WHAT PARTY" is spread around with the art installation adopting CHUM sculpture.
“I can remember clearly packing and shipping the first CHUM release from my apartment in Brooklyn twenty years ago,” said artist Brian Donnelly.
